What will this job do to improve your life? In this contract role, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for some of Australia’s most exciting Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You’ll work directly on major developments, shaping the technical scope, negotiating with OEMs, and ensuring designs are optimised for success. You’ll gain exposure to high-profile renewable projects and work alongside industry leaders who value your input. About the role Reporting to the Head of Technical, you’ll sit within the Development Team, providing electrical engineering expertise to support BESS projects from concept to delivery. You’ll manage consultants, coordinate design and grid-related services, and support the preparation of technical requirements for construction and split contracts. Key projects include the BESS projects between 50MW - 200MW, with additional developments in the pipeline. Duties Develop technical requirements and scope for BESS projects Manage external consultants and coordinate design deliverables Negotiate with OEMs to optimise project outcomes Provide technical input for development activities, including DA approvals and specialist studies Skills/experience Electrical engineering background Experience in renewable power generation projects, ideally BESS or battery/generation assets Strong capability in developing technical requirements for construction/BOP contracts Track record in managing design and grid-related services in a development environment Competitive market rate Flexible work with preference for Sydney-based candidates Work on major Australian renewable energy projects Company & culture Vinova is working with a leading renewable energy developer with a proven track record of delivering large-scale battery, solar, and wind projects across Australia.
