About the role We’re seeking a n Accountant on a 12 month contract who will be responsible for accounting of transactional data and maintenance of trial balances , i nclud ing month end accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, stewardship procedures and involvement in internal and external audits and maintenance of projects, fixed assets and intangible asse t registers. You’ll join an innovative team, who play an active role in continuous improvement through creating process consistency, standardisation, automation, as well as creation and maintenance of process and procedures documentation. Day-to-day, you will: Understand and adhere to accounting policies and processes and execute key financial controls Understand existing processes and identify systems and process improvement opportunities and automation Prepare and post various accounting journals , including supporting calculations Raise external invoices and monitor their timely settlement Prepare daily revenue reconciliations and manage issues or reconciling items Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and i dentify and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner Prepare various cashflows and statements of changes in equity Assist with internal and external audit process, including information gathering and liaising with audit team to resolve issues as they arise Prepare various disclosures and calculations as part of cyclical reporting (quarterly, half-year and year end) This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including: Appropriately d egree - qualified in Commerce o r Accounting with a CA/CPA (or equivalent) or in progress to complete An experienced External Auditor from a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm looking to make the ir first jump into industry Attention to detail and accuracy with a focus on quality outcome s Confident and comfortable using systems and understand ing data models Enjoy working autonomously as well as being part of a tea m Value collaboration within and outside the immediate team Be curious and committed to learn If you meet some of these requirements, but not all , we encourage you to submit your application.
