About the Role The CSSD Supervisor will play a vital role in upholding exceptional healthcare standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing the decontamination, packaging, and sterilisation of all reusable instruments / equipment used in the Operating Theatres. Ensuring compliance and the relevant Instructions for Use (IFUs). Reporting directly to the Perioperative and CSSD Services Manager, the CSSD Supervisor’s leadership will be instrumental in supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Position Objectives: · Oversees the daily operations of the CSSD, including the procurement, processing, and maintenance of instruments and equipment, as well as all facets of caregiver employment administration. · Leadership & Supervision: Oversee daily CSSD operations, staff delegation, training, annual performance reviews, and compliance with sterilisation standards (AS5369:2023). · Sterilisation Process Management: Handle decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, and documentation of reusable medical instruments. · Equipment & Resource Oversight: Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, chemicals, and cleaning protocols. · Inventory & Supply Management: Maintain stock levels, manage storage, and support procurement to meet surgical needs. · Steriliser Management: Supervise routine cleaning, testing, and documentation for all sterilisers. About You You will need to hold the following accreditation, skills and working rights: · Certificate III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilising Services) or equivalent qualification · Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sterilising complex medical instruments · In-depth knowledge of AS5369:2023 and other relevant sterilisation standards · Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong communication skills · Ability to take initiative, is self-motivated, and can work as part of a team with minimal supervision. · Exhibit a strong work ethic by consistently displaying punctuality, integrity, respect for others, and a dedication to professional standards. · Proficient in: · Problem solving and analytical abilities. · Organisational skills. · Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. · Recognises that additional duties and responsibilities may be required occasionally, beyond those outlined in this document. · Verification of eligibility to work in Australia. · Identification check validation. · Police check clearance. · Working with Children (WWC) check.
