This position is offered as an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. Both non-ongoing and hourly rate contracts will be considered. The Role As a Finance Officer focused on travel, you will: Supervise day-to-day travel operations, including a travel helpdesk service Provide guidance on travel policies and manage compliance requirements Oversee financial treatments, reconciliations, and acquittals for travel allowances Liaise with contracted providers to coordinate flights, accommodation, and passport services Prepare reports, briefs, and submissions as required Assist with reviewing and developing travel policies in line with whole-of-government contracts The Ideal Person You will bring: Strong communication skills and the ability to provide professional client service Experience in data analysis, financial administration, or procurement/contract management Sound judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities An interest in compliance and policy frameworks, with strong attention to detail A collaborative approach and ability to work both independently and as part of a team You are likely to come from the APS at the APS4 or APS5 level, with hands-on experience in travel operations and related services. This role requires Australian citizenship, and Baseline clearance is preferred.
