About The Role Step into a pivotal role at The Benevolent Society, where your expertise will help shape environments that empower communities. As a trusted advisor within our Property & Facilities team, you’ll work closely with the Head of Property and Facilities to manage a diverse national portfolio of leased and owned assets. This is more than just a property role, it’s a unique blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution. You’ll lead initiatives that drive our property strategy, reimagine our facilities management model, and oversee major tenders that impact how we deliver services across Australia. Duties Strategic Property Management - Partner with business leaders to anticipate and address evolving property needs, translating them into proactive asset and facilities solutions aligned with organisational goals. Portfolio & Lease Management - Support the national property strategy through portfolio optimisation, cost control, and lease negotiations, ensuring documentation and stakeholder engagement reflect strategic intent. Operational Excellence & Compliance - Maintain robust property systems, lead capital works planning, and coordinate compliance activities across fire safety, HAZMAT, and preventative maintenance. Governance & Collaboration - Contribute to FM model redesign, procurement processes, and internal briefings, while mentoring team members and championing inclusive, person-centred service delivery. Skills And Requirements Relevant Qualifications & Industry Knowledge - Degree-level business or real estate qualifications with a solid grasp of property legislation, compliance requirements, and the Building Code of Australia (BCA). Hands-On Property & Facilities Experience - Minimum 4 years’ experience managing leases, facilities operations, commercial fitouts, and make good obligations across diverse portfolios. Stakeholder & Contractor Management - Proven ability to manage contractors, suppliers, and service providers, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. Project & Service Delivery Focus - Familiarity with project management principles and a customer-centric mindset to enhance service outcomes and operational efficiency. Communication & Adaptability - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and thrive in dynamic environments.
