Due to substantial growth and new contracts, Dwelcom requires a Construction Supervisor to join its successful team based in Morisset servicing the Greater Newcastle area, however regional & possible interstate travel when required in the event of a catastrophe / disaster relief. THE ROLE The main focus will be closing out the many and varied construction jobs which range from $20K to $800K. You will work with a team of supervisors, subcontractors and tradesmen and provide construction knowledge and support to the team on an ongoing basis. You will have initiative, be able to execute a plan, be able to adapt and be an integral part of the middle management team. You will bring your experience in project management, labour management, budgeting, materials logistics and workplace safety and quality. Works will include • Regular communication with trades • Estimation and scoping • Project / Development budgeting • Cost planning and cost estimating • Cost advice to clients • Calculate and prepare quantities • Pricing of estimates • Manage and prepare tenders • Request subcontractor and supplier quotations • Contract Administration • Project risk management • Attend site inspections and project meetings • Progress claims and variation assessments • Report writing • Providing updates to all stakeholders • Ensuring compliance with NCC and A/S’s • WHS documentation and paperwork onsite in compliance with National/State workplace legislation • Accurately forecasting revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilisation across projects and undertaking responsibility for project profitability • Advice on contract negotiations, cash flows, procurement, cost reporting, evaluation of variations, valuations, final account reporting and processing of claims • Establishing and achieving project deliverables on time • Providing clients with proactive, timely and quality service times • Provide the most appropriate solutions, services or products. • Effectively plan and schedule inspections to ensure sufficient work volume and efficient use of time THE REQUIREMENT To be successful you will require: • A certificate IV or higher in Building and Construction (preferred) • A minimum of 5 years' experience in residential building • Expert working knowledge of regulations and building codes and standards • Experience in residential and commercial construction projects • Experience with projects ranging from ($20k- $800k) • Experience in cost management of project and forecasting • Demonstrated experience in leading a team with the ability to motivate and drive sub-contract labour • Ability to read plans, set out and work to programme and drive projects • High level of organisational and time management skills • Excellent communication & problem-solving skills • Experience and skills in WH&S and QA • Good customer service skills – is a priority • Sound computer literacy ( Outlook, Word & Excel) and familiarity with Microsoft Project and its application to effectively deliver projects • Along with private / client construction works familiarity with insurance repair and rectifications of buildings would be advantageous • Not afraid to get hands dirty if the occasion arises • Ability to travel between Sydney & surrounding areas. • A strong business / commercial acumen • Understanding of the entire build cycle • Good teamwork and engagement • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills • Well-developed IT skills and high levels of numeracy and literacy • Working knowledge of building codes and regulations • Competent computer skills across Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to travel regionally & interstate if required • WHS Induction Card • Drivers License • White Card Communication is the key dynamic to our business.
