The Role as a QA/QC Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring quality compliance across painting, blasting, and mechanical/boilermaker scopes. You will conduct inspections, prepare reports, and work closely with project teams and clients to uphold SMS’s commitment to safety, quality, and excellence. About You Strong knowledge of coating and blasting QA/QC standards Proven track record in industrial or mining projects High attention to detail with excellent reporting skills Ability to build strong working relationships with site teams and clients Safety-first mindset and commitment to best practices Key Responsibilities Conduct QA/QC inspections for blasting, painting, and coating works Carry out inspections for mechanical and boilermaker scopes as required Verify compliance with industry standards, specifications, and client requirements Prepare and maintain inspection and test reports/documentation Support site teams in identifying, reporting, and resolving non-conformances Promote SMS’s safety and quality culture across all works. Mandatory Requirements Certificate III in Painting & Blasting (or equivalent trade qualification) NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Certification – Level 2 (CIP 2) or above Experience with mechanical/boilermaker works inspections (preferred) Nationally Accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card) EWP/LF Licence – Desirable MSIC – Desirable Valuable (but not essential) Experience & Certifications Candidates with the following additional certifications will be highly regarded: AMPP Certified Coating Inspector NACE Level 2 CIP with Bridge Specialty S-CAT (CCIMS-CCAMS [NAVSEA]) Technician DENSO – VISCOTAQ Pipeline Fieldweld Inspector (QAQC) ICorr or FROSIO Coating Inspector Certification (internationally recognised) Welding Inspector (CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI) NDT Level II/III (MT, UT, RT Interpretation) API Certifications (570/653/510) – for piping, tanks, and pressure equipment ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification Confined Space, Gas Testing, or Rope Access (IRATA) Apply now.
