We are seeking a proactive and reliable maintenance officer to join our team and support a community-focused organisation. This role is ideal for someone with a hands-on maintenance background who enjoys contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. About the Role As a Maintenance Officer, you will work on-site full-time and be the first point of contact for maintenance requests. From patching and painting to fixing leaks or adjusting furniture, you'll handle day-to-day upkeep and support residents and staff by ensuring their environment is safe and comfortable. You'll be encouraged to assess and attempt repairs before engaging external contractors, making this a varied and rewarding role. Typical responsibilities include: Responding to resident and staff maintenance requests. Handling general repairs such as patching, painting, door repairs, and small fixes. Conducting quarterly inspections of rooms, bathrooms, furniture, and equipment. Addressing minor issues daily (approx. 1-2 rooms per day). Coordinating external contractors for electrical, plumbing, and compliance works. Using a Work Management System (job logging via mobile app). What We're Looking For Previous maintenance experience, ideally in aged care, community services, or similar. A practical, "hands-on" background - no trade qualification required. Physically fit and capable of carrying out general maintenance tasks. Compassionate, respectful, and able to interact positively with residents and staff. Comfortable using basic computer systems for logging jobs and emails. What We Offer Stable, full-time hours. $65,000 - $80,000 plus super, plus salary packaging.
