The Bureau has been supporting the Pacific for over 30 years to build resilience for climate and oceans extreme events. We are seeking an experienced applications developer to join the Pacific Climate Services team for the purposes of developing and delivering data management system services to support Pacific National Meteorological Hydrological Services (NMHSs) archive and quality control data and metadata and generate basic products and services for their stakeholders. These tasks require design, development and testing knowledge of CliDE data management system code. The applications developer will be required to provide and maintain technical documentation, work independently, as well as in a small team, with Pacific NMHS representatives and international collaborators. The applications developer will also be required to deploy products to Pacific Island countries and territories in-person and remotely and provide support to CliDE administrators and other NMHS staff with limited data management systems experience. Interstate and/or overseas travel is an essential component of this role.
