The Manager, Health & Safety is responsible for the delivery of safety management practices across specific sites involving the leadership of the Alliance Charter and the interests of all participants. This role leads a team of Occupational Health and Safety to support the packages in achieving safety requirements in its works on site ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Responsibilities Guide and support the Program leadership teams to develop and implement a safety culture that aligns to the company vision, including adequate development and training in safety critical roles. Ensure the projects maintains robust risk management processes, capability, focus, and discipline related to safety. Investigate all causes of events on site and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences. All incidents are reported and investigated; the type and level of investigation will depend on the seriousness of the incident. Maintain comprehensive safety records, manage statutory reporting requirements, and monitor safety performance progress. Manage and support project safety advisors and coordinators (direct reports) to ensure values, behaviours and day to day performance is monitored. Maintain an update-to-date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and company safety requirements, ensuring workplace are informed of relevant changes. Manage the Safety budget for the package, including working with commercial team on monthly forecasting and budget reporting. Required Skills and Competencies Tertiary Qualification in Health Safety or Equivalent. Safety Lead Auditor Qualification (highly desirable) but NOT essential Minimum 8 years as a safety professional with a minimum of 4 in a safety leadership role managing a team of safety professionals. Minimum 5 years in a Construction and/or heavy industry and high-risk workplaces, Rail, Engineering, or other associated functional areas. Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to WorkSafe), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project.
