The Arcadia Group, developers and managers of some of WA's premier Retirement Villages, is seeking an enthusiastic Maintenance/Handyman for a part-time position ( Monday, Wednesday and Friday) at our Retirement Village in Mandurah. About the Role: In this role, you will report directly to the Village Manager and be responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks to ensure the comfort and safety of our residents. Your duties will include: General Maintenance : Undertaking maintenance requests such as minor repair jobs, changing light fittings and globes, replacing batteries in smoke detectors, and checking roof spaces. Inspecting and fixing roof tiles and gutters. Performing basic plumbing repairs and replacements. Assisting with moving larger items as needed. Specialised Tasks : Testing and Resetting of ECS units. Fault finding and repair of village gates. After-hours on-call support (if required). Maintaining and testing the village swimming pool. Keeping fish ponds clean, including filters, pumps, and UV lights. Ensuring the general cleanliness of common areas, including keeping pathways clear and tidy. External Area Maintenance : Ensuring the perimeter fencing is free of graffiti and excess rubbish. Attending to the general maintenance and cleanliness of external areas. Coordination and Safety : Liaising with and coordinating external tradesmen for complex maintenance issues. Ensuring safe work practices at all times. The Successful Applicant Will Have: Demonstrated experience in a similar role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. A pleasant, patient, and calm manner, especially when working with older people. Attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks within required timeframes. The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. A current driver’s license. A valid Test and Tag Certificate or be willing to obtain one. A valid Police Clearance (issued within the last 90 days). Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical examination. Why Join Us?
