They are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Motor Mechanic to join their dedicated team in a well-established, independent workshop. In this role, the successful candidate will carry out a wide range of mechanical diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles, ranging from daily drivers to high-performance and classic models. The annual salary for this position is $76,600 to $77,000. Tasks include: Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in engines and related components. Disassembling engine units, gearboxes, steering systems, and other vehicle parts for inspection. Repairing and replacing damaged and worn components, reassembling parts, and consulting service manuals when necessary. Conducting routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, lubrication, and engine tuning to improve performance and meet environmental standards. Rebuilding engines and components after repairs. Testing and fine-tuning repaired parts to ensure optimal functionality. Using computer systems to help diagnose and test components. May examine vehicles and provide roadworthiness certifications or recommend necessary repairs. May attend vehicle breakdowns and provide roadside assistance. Interacting with customers with professionalism, explaining issues clearly, providing transparent estimates, and reporting back with recommendations and timelines. Ensuring shop organisation and safety, preparing vehicles for service, and keeping up with documentation and quality control. Qualifications: Must have at least one (1) year of relevant experience. Should hold an AQF Certificate III, including at least two (2) years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
