Our Mission: For current and future generations, we work with and for Australian Aboriginal people to protect rights and manage Country and opportunities About the Role: YMAC is currently seeking a full time (75 hours per fortnight) Business Support Officer to join the Legal team in our Perth office on a permanent contract. The Legal team employs native title lawyers to provide legal advice and representation to YMAC’s client groups. It also assists YMAC to carry out its Native Title Representative Body (NTRB) functions under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NTA). Reporting to the Legal Services Coordinator, this position has a significant focus on providing administrative support to the key organisational initiatives within the legal unit. Responsibilities include supporting the legal unit with a high quality professional business aptitude, undertaking project works, meeting corporate and departmental reporting requirements, and undertaking administrative functions. About You: You will have the ability to provide effective administrative support for the Legal Team as set out by the Legal Services Coordinator. You would have an interest in potential regional travel to provide support at meetings, including taking minutes. Organising and coordinating meetings will be a strong suit of yours, from planning stages through to implementation. You will also be able to efficiently organise travel for staff, including flights, accommodation and any required paperwork. Qualifications & Experience Minimum two years experience in a similar administrative role Skills High level interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. Strong organisational and time management skills prioritising own work to agreed deadlines with ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment. Excellent attention to detail. Attributes & Desired Knowledge A strong connection to, or interest in, Aboriginal culture. Team player, willing to work collaboratively within and across teams. Ability to work independently whilst also able to work effectively in a team. Proactive and flexible attitude.
