The Job Profile A unique opportunity has arisen for a Publicity Manager to lead our Melbourne publicity team. Reporting to the Publicity Director, the candidate will coordinate successful publicity campaigns for a range of adult books for Simon & Schuster and Affirm Press. The Job Role The role involves leading the Melbourne Publicity team and executing imaginative, effective, and impactful publicity campaigns, working closely with the publishing, marketing, and sales teams to deliver fully integrated promotional plans. The Candidate Profile The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and delivering inventive and strategic publicity campaigns across traditional and digital media, with success in organizing events and book tours, big and small. They will have an established network of media and event contacts and be able to hit the ground running in a vibrant department. While this role encompasses work on a wide variety of titles, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience or passion for non-fiction and literary titles, mainly focusing on adult books for Simon & Schuster and Affirm Press. The candidate should demonstrate leadership skills with effective mentorship, multi-tasking, and innovative thinking, along with exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, from debuts to brand and celebrity authors, is essential.
