The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society. The Role Located in the Curriculum, Assessment and Strategic Policy Directorate, the Principal Consultant, Secondary – English provides leadership in the development and review of curriculum, assessment, and standards support materials for Years 7–10. The role oversees processes and deliverables associated with adopting and/or adapting the Australian Curriculum Version 9.0 for English Education (Years 7–10). Experienced Secondary English teachers with strong curriculum expertise are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be familiar with the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Outline, with recent Years 7–10 teaching experience considered an advantage. In this role, you will organise, facilitate, and coordinate materials for staff across schools, regions, professional associations, and education sectors. Successful applicants should have good communication skills, strong time management and organisational skills, and the ability to develop documents collegially, with a focus on internal timeframes. The position supports communication and collaborative processes between systems/sectors, schools and other stakeholder organisations to share and generate ideas and monitor and review implementation processes.
