Glenorchy City Council are currently seeking two motivated and enthusiastic Civil Construction Apprentice to join our team and work alongside experienced professionals while completing a Certificate III in Civil Construction. About the Role As a Civil Construction Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a variety of construction and maintenance activities under the guidance of experienced team leaders. This role provides an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn and develop practical skills that will set you up for a long-term career in the civil construction industry. What You’ll Do Under supervision, you will be involved in: Assisting with civil construction and maintenance works Reading and interpreting plans and job specifications Measuring, calculating, and organising materials Operating small plant, hand, and power tools Supporting traffic management and risk management activities Following workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures Attending all required training sessions, workshops, and assessments to complete Certificate III in Civil Construction About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Completion of Year 10 and a strong interest in civil construction Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team Willingness to take instruction, work under supervision, and undertake formal training Sound literacy and numeracy skills to support your Certificate III studies A keen interest and demonstrated ability to work with tools, plant, and equipment Essential Traffic Management Accreditation or the ability to obtain on commencement of employment White Card the ability to obtain on commencement of employment Position Details: Fixed Term – 3 years Full-time (76 hours fortnight) 9 day fortnight because life happens outside of work too.
