The Sustainable Energy Division (SED) at the Department of Mining and Energy is dedicated to developing, advocating, and implementing policies and reforms in the electricity industry and sustainable energy sector to support secure, reliable and affordable energy for all Territorians. Role and Responsibilities As the Executive Director , provide strategic planning, resource management, and oversight of complex projects and policy initiatives. Lead the facilitation of private sector projects in electricity and sustainable energy domains. Inspire high-performing teams, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. Translate intricate technical and industry issues into clear, evidence-based policies and strategies to inform government decision-making and deliver real-world outcomes across the energy sector. Qualifications and Experience In-depth knowledge of local and national electricity and sustainable energy landscapes. Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating market-driven initiatives and economic strategies. Executive-level leadership qualities and adept resource management, with strong strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills. Tertiary qualifications in economics, electrical engineering, law, public policy, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
