The Global Transaction Services (GTS) business at Westpac provides transactional banking and payments solutions to governments, large corporates and small business customers. GTS also manages Westpac’s participation in various payment systems (New Payments Platform, BECS, SWIFT) and helps set the payments strategy for the Westpac group. In this role, you will provide strategic legal guidance to GTS to support business growth, help the business to navigate a shifting regulatory and competitive landscape for payments products and lead negotiations on a wide range of customer and commercial contracts. This is an opportunity to support an established business at a major bank that is passionate about customers and motivated to grow. The role will give you valuable insights into how money moves through our banking system, how companies of all sizes manage their banking needs and cutting-edge developments in payments technology. What do I need? 7 years PQE Solid private practice and/or in-house experience in financial services, advising on banking products and regulatory obligations and issues Strong experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation Energetic self-starter who shows initiative, is excellent at building strong relationships and is keen to grow and learn Some experience in advising on digital products and platforms and associated privacy and data issues – this is not critical but will be highly regarded Why join us?
