We are seeking a qualified and experienced person to join our committed team. Terry Wilkie Smash Repairs is a respected family business which has been operating in Toowoomba since 1965, and we have achieved this through our commitment to quality workmanship and attentive customer service. This position has been created to assist our Production Manager in ensuring work contracts are kept on schedule, that all work has been performed in accordance with the job card and vehicle manufacturers standards, and completed in the designated timeframe and delivered to the customer with high quality repairs. Pride in appearance and performance is paramount POSITION INFORMATION Working Hours 7AM – 5PM Mon – Thurs (4 day working week) Salary Negotiable on Experience EXPERIENCE SHOULD INCLUDE Trade background in either in panel or paint (or both) Understanding the importance of good communication skills and be able to liaise with customers and insurance representatives in a courteous, professional manner – both in person and via telephone discussion JOB DETAILS Organise sublet contracts within time restraints and booking appointments which would include the following:- 4WD accessories including bullbars and associated parts Mechanical repairs, wheel alignments and tyres Computer and scanning of vehicle systems Dealer communication with faults Signwriting and decal kits Windscreens and glass work required Trays and accessories Alloy rim repairs Powdercoating and sandblasting jobs Any other subcontractor required to complete repairs associated with accident repairs Liaise with trade staff over methods of repair and supplementary work Be able to time manage jobs and subcontractors to keep work contracts flowing Ability to carry out precise intensive quality inspections to ensure Job Card has been followed correctly, that all work has been completed and detect any faults or failures in repairs, paint and fit up. Liaise and organise rectifications with trade staff for jobs not passing quality inspection Precisely photograph all damage repaired and ensure vehicle has been cleaned to customer expectations Some ordering of required parts for booked work contracts Be able to work in a team environment and follow instructions from the Production Manager and higher management Willing to work outside normal office and lunch breaks (if required) to ensure work contracts are kept on schedule Hold regular Production Meetings with office staff and management either with or on behalf of Production Manager, to provide updates on job progression Organising transport (and towing if required) of vehicles to be moved to and from subcontractor premises Data entry and note recording on insurance portals for future reference (training will be available for software systems used on site) Current Drivers Licence and ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles If you think you are qualified to carry out these tasks in this position, please sent your CV to chris@terrywilkieautosmashrepairs.com.au We look forward to hearing from you
