We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents. The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Solutions Architect to join our ICT team. In this critical role, you’ll design and implement innovative technology solutions that align with Council’s digital strategy, lead system architecture planning, and work closely with key stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and high-performing solutions. This is a rare opportunity to shape Council’s technology landscape and drive digital transformation in a large, complex environment. Responsibilities Design and implement IT solutions that align with business needs and Council’s digital strategy. Provide technical leadership across the project lifecycle, including feasibility and vendor assessments. Develop and maintain system architecture blueprints and roadmaps. Ensure integration and interoperability across platforms and data sources. Evaluate and manage third-party solutions and vendors. Conduct risk assessments and implement security measures. Collaborate with ICT, business and transformation stakeholders for successful outcomes. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practice. For a full list of duties, review the position description. You will have Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field. Extensive experience in IT architecture, enterprise projects, and solution design. Knowledge of cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Azure), databases, and security principles. Proven track record delivering complex, scalable IT solutions. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. C Class Driver’s Licence. Desirable: TOGAF or Cloud Architect certification (e.g., AWS, Azure) and previous public sector experience.
