Role Description We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery a major construction project, with a contract in excess of $400m. This is a highly technical project, that will be truly career-defining for the successful candidate. Working with a respected client, this opportunity has the potential to catapult your career ahead of your peers. With strong performance, we see this role further evolving into a Project Director position. Located in our Melbourne office, you’ll be responsible for: Managing any re-design requirements throughout construction phase. Overseeing contract administration, variations and claims. Engaging with contractors and consultants. Managing the technical construction/delivery phase of the project. Fostering relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports as required. Managing the staging of construction deliverables, with all impacted stakeholders. Candidate Profile To be successful in this role, you’ll need demonstrated experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within a Consultancy or Contractor. You could either be a Project Manager looking to take your first steps into a Senior Project Management position, or an established SPM already. This role will suit someone with outstanding communication and stakeholder skills – skills that’ll be used to enable the smooth delivery of a complex piece of work. You’ll also need: The ability to understand ‘the big picture’ of what the client is trying to achieve with their project – the reason for the project is critical to the success of the business. Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport with stakeholders. Your soft skills, attitude and aptitude will be crucial to success in this role. High attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset. Experience with construction phases of complex projects, in sectors such as Industrial, Health, Retail, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing/Processing, Data Centres or related areas. Automation experience is highly regarded. A willingness to work with team members and deliver outstanding outcomes for clients. Qualifications in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, or related disciplines. Ability to travel across metro Melbourne.
