The Opportunity Partnered with our host BMI Engineering we are looking for a third- or second-year Boilermaking Apprentice who is looking to get their hands on the tools, while completing a MEM30319 – Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication (Boilermaking) qualification. This position is also open to fantastic 2nd or third year apprentices with relevant work experience in boilermaking or have a trade college background. This position is full-time, and based in Acacia Ridge. Your roster will be Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm and Friday you will start at 6:00am and finish at 12:00pm! Job Details BMI Engineering improves the productivity and performance of companies in mining, manufacturing, construction, agriculture and waste management by improving the uptime of their equipment, machinery and fixed plant assets, and reducing their maintenance costs. They are respected nationwide for their hydraulic and truck services, the length and breadth of their capabilities and workshop facilities means they can handle a wide range of welding, metal machining and fabrication projects across any industry and many different materials. You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework. Your duties will include, but is not limited to: Carry out all work as directed by the Workshop Manager. Perform general Boiler making duties including use of grinding, cutting, welding (MIG, TIG, stick, sub merged arc), polishing, pressing and stress relieving of steels. Use electronic devices to complete work-related documentation. Read and interpret engineering drawings. About You The successful candidate will either be a current boilermaking Apprentice. You don’t need to have specific hydraulic experience as you will learn that. BMI produce quality tradespeople who have well rounded skills. They possess an excellent safety culture. You must have excellent communication skills and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in an indoor setting. In addition to these qualities, you will: Be able to provide your current boilermaking RTO results Have completed a minimum of year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics Have a driver's licence and preferably live within 45 minutes of Acacia Ridge Be safety-minded Be well presented Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions Work safely Have the ability to pass a Medical, Drug and Alcohol, and Police Check Apply Now This apprenticeship offers the chance to work alongside seasoned professionals, honing your skills while contributing to diverse and challenging projects.
