Description Business Analyst – 12 Month Contract The Opportunity Downer’s Energy & Utilities division is seeking a Business Analyst with a strong finance focus to join our Finance Performance team on a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting operational transformation projects that improve financial performance and standardise operating models across multiple business support functions. This is a high-impact role where you’ll partner with Finance, Commercial, and Operational stakeholders to analyse cost drivers, labour utilisation, rates, and variances. What you’ll do In this role, you will: Analyse financial and operational data, with a focus on costings, labour analysis, rates, and variances. Document business processes, standardised definitions, and agreed solutions. Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Risk, and Operations to align outcomes. Facilitate effective communication between business users and technical teams. What we’re looking for We’re looking for an experienced and driven Business Analyst who brings: 3 years’ experience in a business analyst, commercial analyst, or similar finance-focused role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Demonstrated experience with cost analysis, labour modelling, rates, and variance reporting. Advanced Excel and reporting skills (Power Query, Power Apps, Power BI advantageous). Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across Finance and Operations teams.
