Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Podiatrist to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term parental leave contract, working four days per week (Tuesday to Friday), with a preferred commencement by November 2025. This position is ideally suited to a podiatrist with strong experience in managing acute high-risk foot presentations, who is proficient and confident in working independently within a complex clinical environment. In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality podiatry services using advanced clinical practice skills. As a Senior Podiatrist, you will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and leadership, actively contributing to teaching, training, research, and quality improvement activities. You will also be responsible for the supervision and mentoring of junior staff and students. Applicants who are unsuccessful for this position may be considered for the casual pool or similar vacancies in the near future. The Position Provides podiatry management for assigned patients at a senior level. Assesses, prescribes and implements podiatry treatment for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, this includes evaluation of risk, high-risk foot treatment, (including nail surgery , footwear and offloading) Advanced wound management skills and health promotion. Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising. This requires liaison with the administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation. Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings and regularly liaises with medical and other health professionals. Referrals to external agencies are initiated in a timely manner. Uses an evidence-based, problem solving approach to clinical care and service development. Demonstrates strong, current clinical knowledge and skills and applies this to contribute to supporting individuals and teams in clinical practice. Leads and contributes to undergraduate student programs and training. Leads and develops junior staff within the team. You will hold a tertiary qualification in Podiatry and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You will bring demonstrated senior clinical podiatry experience and leadership within a complex healthcare setting, with the ability to manage high-level clinical responsibilities confidently and effectively. To succeed you will have a proven ability to provide professional supervision and mentorship to junior staff and undergraduate students, supporting their development and professional growth. Additionally, you can demonstrate the capacity to develop evidence-based, innovative clinical practices and to initiate quality improvement activities that enhance patient care and service delivery.
