General Manager Finance Systems and Data - News Corp Reporting to the Finance Director of Planning and Analysis, the General Manager, Finance Systems and Data is responsible for assisting the News Australia finance team modernise, enhance and streamline its operations while delivering on it’s day to day responsibilities. Your diverse set of skills in BI, automation tools, data governance and analytics, finance system understanding/support and AI will be a vital conduit in connecting the vision and roadmap for Finance to the technology of the broader business and global mandates. Supported by a strong team, you must have a proven track record in leadership and collaboration, managing stakeholders at all levels and delivering to deadlines. Responsibilities Ensuring the availability, reliability, security and robustness of finance systems, data and tools, necessary to execute on day to day requirements for the business, head office and essential compliance. Supporting the finance team in its development and enhancement of:- Data Analytics, leveraging data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, IBM Planning Analytics & Alteryx) to create insightful dashboards, automate reporting processes, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.– Management Reporting, develop and maintain comprehensive management financial dashboards, data and analysis to support strategic decision-making.- Automation & AI, identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline financial processes, increasing efficiency and accuracy using RPA and AI tools. Project delivery in key areas supporting the finance roadmap, including tm1 cube redesign, ERP system (JDE), reporting automation and other automation initiatives. Able to contribute to the vision for finance through the lens of technology, data and automation. Establishing and enforcing robust data governance standards, ensuring data quality, integrity and privacy are embedded across relevant systems and processes. Lead the development, engagement and progression of all team members – approximately 10 FTE. Building collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, both within finance and across the business. Who are you? 10 years of experience in management financial reporting, analytics, or a similar role. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related BI field. Finance qualification and/or experience will be advantageous. Prior experience with planning tools such as TM1 and ERP systems such as JDE or similar. Data & insights leadership: strong understanding of business and the ability to tailor effective solutions to meet requirements. Demonstrated ability to work with external partners and service providers to maximise value. Experience in driving transformation initiatives, involving multiple business functions. A collaborative mindset to build partnerships with others to meet shared objectives. Strong stakeholder engagement and project-management skills. High impact self-starting individual, resourceful and solution-driven. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, ensuring high-quality work and professional development.
