Overview This senior position leads the delivery of complex Battery Energy Storage Systems and energy solution projects across the business at C&I and sub-utility scale for an Australian industry leader. This role bridges sales, production, and service operations, overseeing projects from contract execution through operational handover. Proven expertise in managing sophisticated technical projects and ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence is key. Based between Melbourne CBD and industrial offices with regular travel between both. Base pay range A$180,000.00/yr - A$200,000.00/yr Responsibilities Safety first leadership with consistent emphasis on people, process, and technology Lead end-to-end project delivery processes for commercial, industrial, and utility projects Implement project management methodologies that ensure consistent, high-quality delivery Manage complex interdependencies between technical, operational, and commercial teams Design robust risk management frameworks specific to energy infrastructure projects Oversee commercial contract development, negotiation, and management Key responsibilities Leadership Strategic project planning and execution Team leadership and performance optimization Customer relationship management Technical & Operational Skills Risk assessment and mitigation Regulatory compliance understanding Quality Assurance Create a culture of quality and ongoing commitment to continuous improvement Establish and maintain quality control processes across projects Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues Develop quality metrics and reporting systems Team Development Build and lead the project team Establish training programs and competency frameworks Develop career progression pathways for team members HSEQ & Compliance Develop and implement HSEQ policies and procedures Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations Establish safety protocols for field operations Maintain required certifications and licenses Conduct regular safety audits and reviews Implement incident reporting and investigation procedures Commercial management Understand customer contractual commitments and ensure delivery to requirements Ensure adherence to cost, variation management, and financial governance Negotiate and manage service partner agreements Create vendor training and certification programs Process Development Be responsible for leading ongoing improvement to management software systems in conjunction with software delivery teams Develop and maintain technical documentation Create and optimize workflow processes Establish data collection and analysis procedures Qualifications 10 years’ experience managing complex projects and programs 5 years’ experience in energy project delivery preferred Proven track record in building and leading project managers and project teams Experience with quality management systems and processes Highly evolved customer management experience Experience with HSEQ management systems Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred) or equivalent demonstrable experience Desired skills Background in sub utility-scale or commercial energy infrastructure projects Experience with emerging energy technologies Demonstrated success in standardising project delivery processes Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations Our client is an ISO certified organisation and has responsibilities to ensure ongoing adherence to internal management systems, including ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems).
