About the RoleWe are looking for a talented and self-driven Video Journalist (VJ) to create compelling, high-quality content that showcases local businesses and stories. This role combines on-camera presence, videography, photography, storytelling, and digital publishing. The ideal candidate will be a creative all-rounder who can handle the entire production process — from concept to publication — using their own professional-grade equipment. Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Camera Hosting: Conduct engaging video interviews with businesses, owners, and other subjects.Videography & Photography: Film, capture, and produce visually appealing footage and still images.Video Editing: Edit videos with professional software to deliver polished, engaging final products.Writing: Create articles and blog posts to accompany videos, ensuring accurate and compelling storytelling.Publishing: Upload and format content for blogs, websites, and social media platforms.Social Media Management: Share and promote content across multiple social platforms to maximise reach and engagement.Content Planning: Work with the team to develop story ideas, content schedules, and coverage plans.Equipment Management: Provide and maintain your own high-quality camera, lighting, audio, and editing tools/software. RequirementsProven experience as a Video Journalist, Multimedia Content Producer, or similar role.Strong on-camera communication and presentation skills.Excellent videography, photography, and video editing abilities.Proficiency with editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging articles.Ability to manage the entire content process independently.Own professional-grade camera, audio, lighting equipment, and editing software.Solid understanding of social media platforms and digital publishing best practices.Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. Preferred SkillsExperience in interviewing and storytelling.Basic graphic design skills for thumbnails and social media visuals.Knowledge of SEO for blogs and YouTube.
