Genus is currently seeking a reliable and proactive Trades Assistant to support our dynamic mechanical workshop and manage the day-to-day logistics of a large fleet of trucks and equipment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in a similar environment, who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced setting. You’ll play a key role in ensuring vehicle movements, inspections, and equipment setups run smoothly and safely. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and carry out vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups across WA. Assist inspectors with setting up equipment such as Crane Borers and EWPs (training provided). Organise and maintain the yard, managing the movement of incoming and outgoing fleet. Support the loading and unloading of heavy plant and equipment. Provide on-the-ground assistance to operators and trades personnel as needed. About You: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar workshop or fleet-based role. Strong awareness of safety procedures, effective communicator, and a team player. Comfortable working in a physically active environment with a focus on punctuality and reliability. Required Qualifications & Licences: National Police Clearance (current). Valid Australian Driver’s Licence – C, MC or HR class. Construction White Card (OH&S Induction). High-Risk Work Licences (DG, RB, CN, CV, C2). Proven experience with load restraints. Full Australian working rights. Desirable: Experience in utilities and/or construction and/or resources industry. Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate. Basic Worksite Traffic Management (RIIOHS302A). Hold a Current Drivers Medical.
