About the role AMS has an exciting full-time opportunity for an Accountant to join our Perth based Finance team. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting overall financial operations. Working closely with the Head of Finance and Shared Services, you will also play a key role in month-end reporting, budgeting and driving process improvements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys both the technical and advisory aspects of accounting. Key responsibilities include: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and fixed asset register Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Analyse financial data, identify trends and provide meaningful insight to support decision making Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning Review and support fortnightly payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax and legislative obligations Lead month-end and year-end close processes Support and guide other members of the finance team Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies and procedures Contribute to finance projects, system improvements and automation initiatives About You AMS will provide ongoing training and professional development to support this next step in your career, but you’ll already be off to a great start if you have previous experience in the following areas: Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline Hold CPA or CA membership or be actively working towards qualification Proven experience in a similar role with end-to-end responsibilities Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders Strong analytical and problem solving skills High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices and principles What We Offer Excellent remuneration will be offered to the right applicant reflecting their skills and experience Work in a dynamic and growing organization supporting critical infrastructure Be a part of a values driving team committed to professionalism and innovation 9 day fortnight option Professional growth and career development support Modern facilities with free onsite parking We’d love to hear from you!
