About the Role An exciting and unique opportunity for a Solutions Sales Manager - Automation to join our Automation team. Reporting to Automation Solution Manager, the purpose of this newly created role is to drive the growth of automation solutions through identifying and developing new business opportunities across key industries such as manufacturing, logistics and warehousing. The role focuses on understanding client operational needs, presenting tailored automation systems, and managing the end-to-end sales process from initial engagement to post-sale support whilst ensuring alignment with company values, customer expectations, and internal processes. The role will be based at Melbourne Branch Responsibilities will include: Identify and develop sales opportunities for Automation systems in industries such as manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and distribution. Engage with key decision-makers to understand material handling and intralogistics challenges. Analyse client operations and workflows to identify areas where Automation solutions can improve efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Present and demonstrate Automation solutions to potential clients. Collaborate with engineering and project teams to design Automation systems tailored to specific site layouts and operational needs. Develop and deliver technical proposals, quotations, and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses to support the sales process. In conjunction with Automation Solutions Manager, negotiate contracts, pricing, and project timelines to close deals and ensure alignment with customer expectations. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using TMH tooling. Providing Account Management support customers post-sale by coordinating implementation, training, and ongoing service in collaboration with technical support teams. Behave in a manner which reinforces and reflects agreed values and ensure adherence to all company policies & procedures. Skills and experience: Tertiary Qualification in Business Sales or Sales & Marketing, desirable Qualification in Mechatronics Engineering or Cert III in Engineering – Technical is desirable but not necessary Proven B2B sales experience, preferably in industrial or automation sectors Experience with account management and building long-term client relationships. Ability to interpret technical drawings, site layouts, and system requirements. Familiarity with industrial automation, logistics operations, and warehouse systems Strong presentation, negotiation and closing skills. Ability to develop solution proposals and ROI-based selling strategies. Highly self-motivated, goal-driven, and proactive in lead generation Strong time management and ability to manage long sales cycles. Ability to travel consistently to attend client meetings, site assessments, and trade shows.
