The Opportunity As the Senior Risk and Business Continuity Officer in the City of Perth, you will be the hands-on risk practitioner and knowledge leader responsible for the review, improvement and maintenance of the City’s risk management system and business continuity framework. Reporting to the Manager within our Audit and Risk team, your primary responsibilities will include: Providing advice to the City’s leadership on the identification, assessment, and preparation for disruption risks to support business continuity;Offering expertise in the formulation, design, and implementation of initiatives, programs, and frameworks in the areas of risk and business continuity management;Delivering strategic and operational risk management and business continuity planning advice to senior leaders, enabling the City to respond to emerging priorities and broader organisational initiatives; andBuilding effective relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders to:Create and integrate business continuity plans, including conducting and/or facilitating regular testing and implementing continuous improvement actions.Conduct and/or facilitate risk assessments, provide feedback to responsible areas, and ensure the proper maintenance of all related records and operating frameworks (e.g., risk registers).Ensure cross-organisational, interrelated, and interdependent plans (e.g., crisis management) are effectively and holistically managed. About You To succeed in this role, you will possess: Tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated relevant extensive experience;Expertise in risk management, risk standards and assessment techniques (including ISO31000:2018);Knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment, corporate governance and change drivers; andStrong experience in risk management and business continuity planning.
