About the role This role involves leading and managing the strategic design and delivery of capital works programs for the City of Hobart, ensuring that infrastructure projects are innovative, sustainable, and community focused. Role Accountabilities Include: Lead the development, implementation, and review of Council’s strategic direction to support sustainable outcomes aligned with community aspirations. Provide informed, strategic advice that supports integrated decision making across the organisation. Align work with strategic plans and budgets, delivering on the City Plan and Greater Hobart 2050. Apply knowledge of the political, social, legal, and organisational context to all initiatives. Offer high-level advice to stakeholders to enhance project design and organisational impact. Build and leverage relationships to advocate for the Hobart community and represent Council with key stakeholders. Identify strategic risks and opportunities that may affect the organisation. We are seeking someone who can confidently navigate complex political environments, lead with insight, and bring capital works projects to life using tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or SpaceGass. If you are skilled in managing budgets and driving projects from concept to completion with precision and impact, this could be your next big move. Essentials for the role: Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent and an advantage to have additional studies in business, urban planning and/or management.
