Find out more about our school by visiting Schools Online The Role As an Education Assistant – Special Needs (EASN) you would work under general supervision and guidance performing tasks that discretion and judgement in achieving clearly defined outcomes determined by the teacher. Suitable applicants are expected to provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education. Strong organisational skills and communication skills are important to collaboratively manage classroom resources and in providing feedback to teachers, parents and therapists. Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a team is highly desired but not a necessity in performing special education programs and building strong and positive relationships with students. Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs. Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents. Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
