This is a great opportunity for a Senior Economist or an Assistant Director Economist to join this busy team on a 12-month assignment. About the role : Work with like-minded individuals to address the unique challenges of the care economy and human services markets. Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding the current and future states of the agency-supported markets. Apply statistical and economic modelling and research methods, using large datasets, to understand the functioning of the agency markets and propose improvements. Address information asymmetries and market failures by designing pilot studies that fill information gaps and test new solutions. Collaborate effectively across teams and departments, and with experts and academics, to understand priorities and build shared understanding. Make a significant impact on the allocation of the scheme resources, which are projected to grow. About you : You will have superior analytical and problem-solving skills applied to understanding complex economic issues and working toward practical solutions. You will have structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems, and the development of analytical frameworks. You will possess quantitative skills to handle and analyze data. You will be able to simplify technical information into clear narratives and plain English advice suitable for non-technical audiences. You will work well within a team and independently. You will have the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally. You will have an interest in the economic challenges of the care economy. You will bring energy, enthusiasm, and motivation to improve the agency.
