About Drive for Life Drive for Life is part of The Salvation Army’s Youth Stream, walking alongside young people aged 16–25 who are navigating life’s challenges. We help them achieve one milestone that can transform their future: gaining their driver’s licence. For many, this isn’t just about driving – it’s about unlocking independence, opening doors to education and employment, and creating pathways to stable housing and community connection. We’re looking for a full-time permanent Driving Instructor to lead our program in Kalgoorlie-Boulder . This role is hands-on, community-focused, and deeply rewarding. You’ll be the steady hand on the wheel—supporting, coaching, and celebrating young people as they take control of their journey. What you’ll be doing: Coach & mentor – guide young people through their driving lessons while boosting their confidence and resilience. Be the connector – liaise with transport authorities, local instructors, and volunteers to keep the program running smoothly. Keep it on track – manage lesson bookings, schedules, and ensure participants stay motivated and progressing. Build the village – recruit, train, and support volunteers who help young people achieve their logbook hours. Create connections – build strong relationships with community groups, schools, and local stakeholders. Bring the energy – engage with young people one-on-one and in group settings, building trust and connection. Show the impact – meet program goals and report on outcomes that highlight real change. Who We’re Looking For Has a genuine passion for working with young people. Brings energy, patience, and encouragement to every interaction. Is organised and confident in managing logistics and relationships.
