Position Title: Support Workers Location: Eagle Heights, Gold Coast Recovery Services Centre Employment Type: Casual Working Hours: All shift times included in roster. Day Shift: 6:24 AM – 2:30 PM or 6:54 AM – 3:00 PM Afternoon Shift: 2:24 PM – 10:30 PM Night Shift: 10:24 PM – 6:30 AM Classification: SCHADS Award – Social and Community Services, Level 3.1 Why this role matters: The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About the role: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Casual Support Workers to join our team at the Gold Coast Recovery Services Centre, located in Eagle Heights. In this role, you will provide consistent, person-centred support in a safe and structured environment, aligned with The Salvation Army’s recovery-based service model and organisational guidelines. We have a variety of shifts available with the expectation that you can reasonably accommodate all shifts within your scheduled roster to align with the centre’s requirements. How You Will Make an Impact: Build positive, respectful relationships with participants, encouraging self-determination and active involvement in their recovery journey. Identify and assess risks associated with participant activities and communicate mitigation strategies to management. Assist with day-to-day tasks, including light cleaning, room preparation for new arrivals, and transportation to appointments. Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with TSA policies and procedures. Promptly report any identified risks affecting participants, staff, or the organisation to the appropriate supervisor. What You Will Bring: Hold a relevant Certificate-level qualification and/or have prior experience or on-the-job training in a similar role. A Diploma-level qualification will also be considered. Hold a current First Aid Certificate. Possess a valid Driver’s Licence.
