Job Description Are you a First Nations Registered Nurse with experience in teaching? If so, this is the job for you. Acknowledge Education is in the process of developing our Diploma, Bachelor and Master (pre-registration) of Nursing, and we are looking for a First Nations Registered Nurse with experience in teaching to write our First Nations units, and advise on other units, ensuring cultural sensitivity from a First Nation perspective. To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Key Responsibilities include: Lecturing, teaching, assessing and marking Nursing students. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessments. Teaching lecture and tutorial classes. Develop the First Nations units for the Diploma, Bachelor and Master’s level of Nursing courses. Advise on the suitability of other units from a First Nations perspective, ensuring that the courses are culturally appropriate. Assisting in the development of support services and systems for First Nation students, to ensure their successful navigation of their courses. Occasionally coordinate and/or lead the activities of other staff teaching in the same discipline. Engage in teaching evaluations, maintaining professional development and pursuing new teaching methodologies and strategies. Identify and monitor students who are at risk of failing and organise necessary student support efforts for the students. Maintain high professional and ethical conduct, including high standards of self- management, resilience and collaborative behaviours.
