Your Role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital The Pharmacy Intern role provides recent graduates with the ability to become competent under supervision of registered pharmacists, in all aspects of the profession of pharmacy as part of the pre-registration year. This role assist in duties required in the provision of a pharmacy service for inpatients of the hospital. The Position Under direct supervision of a pharmacist - receive requisitions or prescription forms from wards and dispenses as per recognised procedures. Give credits where appropriate for unused items. Undertake training and duties of specialised dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist. Carry out, under supervision of a pharmacist extemporaneous manufacturing and dispensing in compliance with departmental policies and the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice. Attain competency in the areas determined by the National Competency Standards Framework for Pharmacists in Australia via workplace mentoring and support and through completion of a recognised pre-registration training program. Carry out the specific duties assigned to Pharmacy Interns as per departmental procedures. All other reasonable duties as directed by Manager/Supervisor. You will hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or Master of Pharmacy Degree from a recognised University OR Master of Pharmacy Degree from a graduate program or equivalent from a recognised University. You will have provisional registration with supervised practice with AHPRA and be eligible for entry to the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Intern Training Program. To succeed you will have well developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of Caregivers and patients. You will also have effective organisational and time management skills. Above all, patient care will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
