Key finance leadership role 3 month contract (view to permanency) Immediate start Are you an experienced accounting professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for driving continuous improvement? We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead and support our Financial Services team in delivering high-quality financial management across the organisation. About the Role Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this pivotal role will: Lead and coordinate the accounting team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. Oversee statutory compliance. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting. Manage annual and monthly financial reporting, budgets, and external audit processes. Provide financial advice and support to business units, management, and Council. Champion best practice in accounting, systems integrity, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Ensure integrity of the general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Coordinate annual financial statements, audit processes, and budget preparation. Manage the investment portfolio, loans, grants, and asset accounting. Lead system improvements and upgrades (TechnologyOne Ci Anywhere, Civica Authority). Support long-term financial planning and policy development. Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. About You We are looking for a motivated leader with: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline. CPA or CA qualification (or working towards). 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within Local Government. Strong knowledge of financial management, statutory compliance, and accounting standards. Experience with TechnologyOne Ci Anywhere (essential) and Civica Authority (desirable).
