As the Chief Digital Officer, you will lead and manage the strategic digital agenda of the department. This includes the development, implementation, and management of the ICT Strategic Plan, comprehensive information management and security policies and procedures, working in collaboration with the business to implement awareness and efficient processes. In This Role You Will Provide leadership and direction to the Digital Services team in strategic activities such as strategic ICT planning. Build and maintain enduring stakeholder partnerships that enable collaborative delivery of customer-focused digital outcomes through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure key internal and external stakeholders continue to be engaged, informed, and educated. Lead the development and implementation of the department's strategic ICT plan, digital governance frameworks, policies, and strategies to advance the department's and Queensland Government's digital priorities. Drive whole-of-department technology outcomes actively supporting and participating as a member of the Digital and Information Steering Committee and Digital and Information Working Group. Provide strategic and technical expertise and advice to the business in the design, review, development, and documentation of departmental information management, asset management, open data, and Information Security Management System policies, standards, procedures, guidelines, and practices, ensuring compliance with Queensland Government guidelines and relevant standards. Lead initiatives to address areas of improvement in a consultative and collaborative manner that meets the needs of the business. Monitor and manage ICT risk, corporate reporting, and governance frameworks by working collaboratively with executive management to determine acceptable risk levels for DSROPG, guiding and prioritizing service and asset investment to mitigate risks. Build collegiate relationships with the executive management team, internal and external service providers to promote continuous service improvement across the ICT portfolio, providing assurance to the senior leadership team in prioritizing service and asset investment, ICT governance, risks, service continuity, information management practices, and compliance. Manage the relationship and ensure effective delivery of services offered and delivered by Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Information Technology Partners to meet DSROPG business requirements, striving for mutually beneficial outcomes. In collaboration with DSROPG business areas, DPI Information Technology Partners, and other stakeholders, plan to ensure all system backups, disaster recovery, business continuity, and network security plans and documentation are in place and relevant to business needs. Represent the department and partner agencies in whole-of-government digital forums and interjurisdictional activities to support the department and Queensland Government's digital transformation objectives. Recognize and advocate for potential ICT opportunities, initiating investigations and development of innovative and strategic approaches utilizing emerging technology and digital opportunities to drive improvements and benefits. Influence departmental culture and practices to ensure ICT governance and assurance activities are integrated into the business both strategically and operationally by actively partnering with the business in providing strategic advice, guidance, planning, and delivery, while managing expectations. Demonstrate highly developed communication, interpersonal, presentation, and consultation skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence relationships with key stakeholders across all organizational levels.
