The Commercial Finance Manager – Black Star Pastry position is responsible for the commercial and financial accounting of Black Star Pastry and drive continuous improvements with the General Manager. The Role: As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing financial decision support, accurate reporting and strategic analysis to guide business decision-making. You will partner with key stakeholders across the organisation and lead an Accounts Officer to drive financial performance and optimise business outcomes. This is an evolving role with many different areas of responsibility that requires an adaptable person who wants to join a growing team. A day in the life could include any of the following Be the go-to financial contact for Black Star Pastry's operational teams. Build strong relationships with business unit managers, acting as their financial advisor and offering guidance. Keep an eagle eye on functions to find chances for financial enhancement like cost savings and process improvements. Get ready to transform numbers into insights! Prepare and share weekly sales reports, COGS figures, and analyses of campaigns. Illuminate stakeholders with timely and accurate insights. Take the lead in our month-end reporting by diving deep into the business' performance. Keep the financial wheels turning by coordinating and reviewing payables, receivables, and intercompany recharges in partnership with our Accounts Officer. Safeguard our assets by overseeing fixed asset registers, operating equipment, supplies, and inventory record keeping. Embrace the role of process improvement develop new procedures that tighten our financial controls and keep our internal environment in check. Assist with preparing information for the external financial accounts in relation to the company’s bank covenant requirements, Income Tax return, FBT Return and relevant payroll related liabilities (in conjunction with payroll manager). Be the General Manager's right hand, helping with any special requests and exciting projects that pop up on the Executive Team's radar. The Successful Candidate CA / CPA Qualification Experience preparing individual and consolidated financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations. Proven experience and understanding of financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills as the role requires liaising with key stakeholders, suppliers, and consultants. Strong investigation skills and ability to autonomously resolve issues. A strong sense of urgency with the ability to meet strict deadlines. Team player – working in partnership with other Finance leaders and business unit managers. Previous experience in the use of an ERP system – (desirable) Experience in establishing processes and improving the control environment within organisations. Why Black Star Pastry?
