About the role Senior Agile Coaches use their in-depth knowledge and experience to embed agile values, principles and practices across multiple teams and the organisation, to achieve our vision of delivering contemporary and trusted services. They help shape and build the culture needed for implementation and ongoing success of agile approaches, influencing high performing teams through visionary, collaborative, accountable and inclusive leadership. They guide, coach and increase the agency's agile maturity and ability to deliver at pace to achieve effective human-centred outcomes. Senior Agile coaches operate with a significant degree of independence and work under the broad direction of a National Manager to deliver quality outcomes. They operate with a high level of autonomy, with decision-making highly dependent on their professional judgement. In performing a leadership role, the Senior Agile Coach identifies and drives innovation, manages and leads change, and has an active role in contributing to and implementing the agency strategic direction. The key duties of the position include Drive a common understanding of agile values, principles, and practices with the senior executive leadership group to enable the organisation to deliver better customer outcomes and faster, fit-for-purpose implementation by working in innovative ways. Build and draw on a high level of expertise in agile principles and practices to lead communities of practice and facilitate and support the organisational culture change necessary for sustained agile success. Educate and coach staff to develop their knowledge and use of agile and innovative practices and to evaluate/determine the most effective agile methodology to use. Help senior leaders to assess the agile maturity of their workforce and advise ways to improve. Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand and be able to support the team/s to achieve the strategic direction of the business area and the agency. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and networks including representing the agency's interests. Lead, plan and conduct coaching and mentoring sessions or workshops with senior leaders to teach new concepts, introduce tools and revisit existing practices or to gather new or update information, or showcase what has been accomplished. Use own Subject Matter Expertise and/ or research, analyse and apply problem solving skills to develop innovative solutions and support teams to scale and consistently adopt emerging best practices.
