This diversified and expanding organisation has operations across multiple brands and locations. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a capable and experienced Accounts Officer to oversee the internal finance function. About the role Reporting to the Office Manager, the Accounts Officer (Lead) will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance operations of the organisation. The role will work in close collaboration with the external accountant and requires a strong understanding of payroll, compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting. This is a high-volume position that demands accuracy, accountability, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines. Key responsibilities Administer payroll and ensure compliance with Single Touch Payroll (STP) requirements Manage BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Fuel Tax Credits, and Superannuation obligations Prepare and monitor budgets, track expenditure, and support cashflow forecasting Approve and allocate expenses across business units and locations Oversee supplier purchase orders, accounts payable, and accounts receivable (120–200 transactions per day in a non-integrated system) Undertake reconciliations, including accounts, clearing accounts, and corporate credit cards Liaise with external accountants to ensure compliance and accurate reporting About you The ideal candidate will have an accounting or finance background, preferably with a degree or tertiary qualifications. You will have demonstrated experience with end-to-end accounts management and strong proficiency in Xero or MYOB. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, have strong organisational skills and be able to work autonomously. A high level of professionalism and the ability to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
