Your opportunity At Triple Care Farm, Mission Australia provides a residential rehabilitation and treatment program that supports young people aged 16–24 as they manage withdrawal and recovery from alcohol and other drug use. Alongside clinical and therapeutic support, we ensure that staff, clients, and the wider community are cared for holistically, including their spiritual and emotional wellbeing. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our team. This part-time position (7 hours per week) will see you onsite at Triple Care Farm, with Fridays as the preferred day of attendance. In this rewarding role, you will provide pastoral care, guidance, and encouragement to both staff and young people, helping them feel supported in their journeys while contributing to Mission Australia’s Christian Founding Purpose and values. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide pastoral care, guidance, and spiritual support to staff, young people in residence, and community members, individually and in groups. Support Mission Australia’s Christian Founding Purpose and values by promoting reflective practice, values-based decision making, and spiritual growth. Collaborate with Program Managers to deliver reflections, team activities, and spiritual or cultural programs aligned to the site’s operation. Build strong and professional relationships with internal staff, external partners, and local churches to strengthen chaplaincy support. Refer individuals to other professional or community support services when issues fall outside chaplaincy expertise. Monitor, evaluate, and report on chaplaincy activities, contributing ideas for ongoing improvement and service development. Ensure compliance with Mission Australia’s Child & Youth Safe policies, raising concerns proactively to safeguard children and young people. Requirements for success Ordained Minister, Pastor, or equivalent in good standing with their denomination, with relevant theological or pastoral care qualifications. Demonstrated experience in delivering culturally appropriate pastoral care and spiritual guidance across diverse communities. Strong listening, counselling, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and confidentially. Ability to work cross-denominationally while maintaining alignment to Mission Australia’s Christian Founding Purpose and values. Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities in a part-time role. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present reflections and engage staff and clients meaningfully. Ongoing commitment to personal spiritual growth, resilience, and active participation in a local church community.
