The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking an exceptional APS6 to join our Information Release and Privacy team. This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver impactful privacy strategies that support the strategic direction and mitigate risks within the Agency. The Information Release and Privacy (IRP) team sits within the Information Release, Privacy and Legal Operations (IRPLO) Branch. The Information Release and Privacy team directly supports the NDIA to adhere to the Privacy Act and uphold the principles set out in the NDIA Privacy Policy, including remediation activities when privacy breaches occur. The team also facilitates the disclosure of personal information when the Agency is required to by law or when it is in the public interest to do so. The key duties of the position include In the Information Release and Privacy team, you will work collaboratively with the team monitoring emerging issues and identifying the impact of risk. Valuable skills and experience in leadership roles across the public sector include but are not limited to: • Experience leading teams in a high-volume administrative decision-making environment. • Ability to coordinate a team working on a specific project or supply professional/technical oversight for specialist activities. • Ability to monitor emerging issues, identifying impact and conducting risk management activities within the sphere of responsibility. • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders under limited direction. • Experience contributing to business improvement strategies and to change in workplace practices. • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy principles to handle highly sensitive information with discretion. Knowledge required includes: • Assisting and making Information Release decisions on complex matters in accordance with the NDIS Act. • Providing support and advice to Agency staff regarding the resolution of privacy incidents • Supporting the development of systems, processes and practical tools including delivering training to support information handling and Privacy awareness. • Managing the priorities of clients and available resources to deliver results on time. • In-depth knowledge of or ability rapidly understand relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks, including the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act), Privacy Act 1988 and Freedom of Information Act 1982 will be highly desirable.
