The key duties of the position include We are seeking HR Complex Case Officers and Managers to join the Conduct, Performance and Reviews team. All Case Officers and Managers undertake two or more of the following case types: • Preliminary and formal investigations of suspected breaches of the APS Code of Conduct • Management of employee complaints • Reviews of action/employment decisions • Formal underperformance processes, and • Alternative dispute resolution and/or mediation. You may also be required to fulfill the role of suspension delegate or breach decision maker on investigations into potential breaches of the APS Code of Conduct. As an APS 6 HR Complex Case Officer, you will: - Manage / investigate complex, sensitive cases with guidance from your EL 1 Team leader - Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy, and the ATO Enterprise Agreement - Write and present clear and credible briefings, reports and recommendations - Identify and escalate risks appropriately, providing informed analysis and options - Help improve HR policies and processes so that they are contemporary and best practice - Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, including union representatives and managers, and contribute actively to a respectful, ethical and inclusive team culture. As an EL 1 HR Complex Case Manager (Team Leader), you will: - Manage / investigate complex, sensitive cases independently, and develop case handling strategies for high-risk matters that cut across case type - Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy, and the ATO Enterprise Agreement - Prepare and present clear, concise, and credible briefings, reports, and written recommendations - Give clear, credible advice to managers and senior executives, guiding them to navigate risks and make sound, defensible decisions aligned with APS standards - Lead the development or review of HR policies and processes so that they are contemporary and best practice - Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders, union representatives and managers - Supervise and coach employees, and foster an inclusive, ethical and respectful team culture.
