The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is seeking an experienced and high performing candidate to fill an IT Officer role within the IT Management and Strategy (ITMS) section. As an IT Officer, you will play a user-facing role delivering a broad range of services across all ITMS functions. You will gain exposure to a range of technologies including laptops, networks through to IT procurement and VIP support. About the Section The ITMS section provides operational ICT services for NHMRC staff including managing IT hardware, software, network infrastructure, cyber security, information management, contract management, project delivery, technical architecture, IT change management, and the NHMRC website. The ITMS section is responsible for the management of NHMRC's ICT infrastructure ecosystem and environment including: • ICT service desk • ICT project management and solution implementation • ICT supplier and contract management • voice and video conferencing support • technical support for flexible and remote working • cyber security management and information management • technical architecture and change management. NHMRC has moved to a fully Cloud-based ICT environment and its security is integral to the mission of promoting health and medical research. Our IT infrastructure is designed to support a wide range of activities, from grant management to data sharing and collaboration with other government agencies and the health sector. The key duties of the position include Job specific duties As the IT Officer, you will support the delivery of NHMRC's ICT services including: • Manage straight forward incident and requests through the ITIL lifecycle, ensuring adherence to SLAs. • Operational IT service delivery such as Microsoft Azure, laptops and business application management. • ICT projects such as building our service catalogue and improving our ticketing systems. • ITIL FinOps activities to maximise value for money for NHMRC's IT services. • Business continuity testing exercises, coordinating input to plans and arranging meetings. • Asset lifecycle activities such as maintaining asset registers and disposal of Commonwealth equipment. • Contribute to ITMS communications such as Intranet articles, knowledge base, self-service guides and standard operating procedures to increase awareness and education throughout the organisation. • Contribute to IT training to build staff skills across M365 and other applications.
