About the role Outage Manager – Bayswater Power Station Location: Muswellbrook, NSW Facility: Bayswater Power Station Type: Full-time, On-site with flexibility. At AGL, we’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Outage Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and close-out of major and forced outages at Bayswater Power Station. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing up to 1,000 contractors, delivering projects valued between $100M–$150M, and ensuring safety, quality, and performance across all outage activities. No two days are the same, here's what you will be doing: Lead HSE systems and culture across internal teams and contractors. Drive field leadership, hazard identification, and incident response. Scope, plan, and execute major outages and forced outages in line with the Outage Management Framework. Manage outage budgets, schedules, and contractor performance. Lead a multi-tiered team including Senior Coordinators, Functional Specialists, and contractors. Coach and develop team members through structured plans and regular engagement. Lead tendering and contract implementation for board-approved outage works. Support AGL’s social license to operate through consistent stakeholder communication. So, about you: You’re a leader first and foremost with deep understanding in large-scale plant operations and outage management. Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, or trade with relevant experience. Experience managing large-scale outages and projects in power station environments.
