With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Laboratory Assistants to join the Anatomical Pathology team.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.  About the Role: This role would suit either an existing or aspiring laboratory assistant who enjoys working as part of a team to contribute to the production of high-quality work and on-going patient care.    Positioned in the Anatomical Pathology team, the key responsibilities would be (but not limited to); specimen handling and data entry, laboratory investigations, MDM organisation, assisting the Anatomical Pathologists, Senior staff and external and internal clients, and mortuary duties.  To be successful in this role you will have: Victorian Certificate of Education or equivalent. Desirable qualification includes certificate/diploma in laboratory techniques or similar. Previous experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory would be highly advantageous and preferable Previous working experience in administration/clerical work specifically data entry would also be advantageous.
