ABOUT US Yarranbrook Feedlot is a specialist beef cattle lot-feeding, backgrounding, and irrigated farming operation based in the heart of the Queensland’s Border Rivers area. Located close to Inglewood, the feedlot’s strategic location and well-appointed infrastructure accommodates both short and long-fed cattle programs to service a combination of market segments. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Leading Hand (Feeding & Milling) you will be responsible for providing hands on direction and day to day supervision to the Feeding & Milling team. This will include providing on the job training and feedback, ensuring all operations are performed safely in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and resolving operational matters that are escalated from team members. You will Contribute to the successful running of the Feeding & Milling team in following activities: Developing all mixed rations on site and ensuring all rations are nutritionally balanced to ensure optimal dietary requirements are met. Ensuring feed rations are dispersed throughout the feedlot in a timely manner Feed batching, milling operations, vehicle and loader operations in a feedlot environment. Processing of grain ensuring a high standard of product is produced. Ensuring basic daily services and greasing schedules are completed. ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated experience in feed production, milling position or feed batching (or similar). You’re mechanically minded with the ability to problem solve on the fly. Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision and exercise autonomy Demonstrated high level of communication, both written, verbal and two way to achieve effective workplace outcomes. Ability to influence, coach, persuade and negotiate to achieve effective outcomes with the team, key stakeholders and senior employees. WHY WORK WITH US?
